Module One:
The first part of the course is a face-to-face discussion with up to twelve learners for three hours. The class will be conducted by an experienced and Transport for NSW accredited facilitator.
The course focuses on how to:
- Reduce road risks and crashes by developing safer driving behaviours.
- Developing hazard awareness, speed management and correct gap selection.
- Manage peer influences in the car, including passenger behaviour and other lifestyle pressures.
- Recognise the impacts of alcohol and drugs on your driving ability.
- Implement these strategies into your daily habits to ensure long-term safe driving.
Learnings from this module are lessons that may not have been learnt in a traditional driving lesson and are crucial in ensuring you are equipped with the knowledge to implement safe driving strategies to make better decisions on the road.
There will be a morning tea break during Module-1 and a lunch break between Module-1 and Module-2 for students to have lunch.
Module Two:
The second part of the course will be a coaching session with a professional driving instructor and can be completed with a friend as two students will be allocated to each instructor. This two-hour session provides an opportunity for students to implement those safe driving behaviours and strategies learnt within Module-1 1 under the supervision and guidance of the instructor.
Did you know studies have shown that learners retain information at approximately 75% when they have practiced what they've learnt! This is extremely important as you implement these strategies in your everyday driving. Please note that although we endeavour to complete Module two on the same day, this may not be possible due to unforeseen circumstances. If so, your facilitator will assist you in finding another suitable time within thirty days.
